# Connect your agent to UsePulse

UsePulse is a Web3 relationship-intelligence CRM. Its MCP server lets an agent search companies and people, rank leads against the workspace ICP, read signals, log meetings and notes, and work the pipeline.

These instructions are for the coding agent reading this file. Configure UsePulse in the client running this session, then help the user sign in. This is Markdown, not a shell script: read it and run only the steps for the current client.

## Connection details

- Server name: `usepulse`
- MCP URL: `https://luma-scraper.quillaudits.com/mcp`
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Authentication: browser OAuth 2.1 with PKCE (S256) and dynamic client registration. Metadata: `https://luma-scraper.quillaudits.com/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server`
- Workspace: the user picks it on the UsePulse consent screen, not in the URL.
- Account: the user needs a UsePulse account on a paid plan. Free-preview accounts cannot approve MCP access. Sign up at https://signal.usepulse.club/signup.

Do not ask the user to paste passwords or browser cookies. Let the client run the OAuth flow and store the token.

## Before configuring

1. Identify the current client and check its MCP configuration with its CLI or official docs for version-specific syntax.
2. Reuse an existing connection to this URL. Do not register a duplicate. If `usepulse` already names a different server, pick an unused name and use it consistently.
3. Merge only the new entry. Never replace a whole config file or remove other servers.

## Claude Code

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user usepulse https://luma-scraper.quillaudits.com/mcp
```

Use `--scope project` instead if the user asked for project scope. Then ask the user to run `/mcp` in Claude Code, select `usepulse`, and authenticate in the browser. `/mcp` is an interactive command, not a shell command. Inspect with `claude mcp get usepulse`.

## Codex

```sh
codex mcp add usepulse --url https://luma-scraper.quillaudits.com/mcp
codex mcp login usepulse
```

Inspect with `codex mcp list`.

## Cursor

Add this entry under `mcpServers` in `~/.cursor/mcp.json` (or the project's `.cursor/mcp.json`), keeping other entries:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "usepulse": { "url": "https://luma-scraper.quillaudits.com/mcp" }
  }
}
```

Cursor opens the browser sign-in the first time a tool is used.

## Claude Desktop, claude.ai and ChatGPT

In Claude, ask the user to open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, enter the MCP URL above, and click Connect. In ChatGPT, add it as a custom connector (developer mode) with the same URL and OAuth authentication.

## Clients without browser OAuth

A workspace super admin can create a static token in the UsePulse dashboard under Settings → MCP Access (https://signal.usepulse.club/dashboard/settings?tab=mcp) and send it as `Authorization: Bearer <token>`. Store it in an environment variable such as `USEPULSE_MCP_TOKEN`, never in a committed file.

## Consent

On the UsePulse consent screen the user signs in, chooses the workspace, and clicks Approve. Deny ends the flow without granting access. Access can be revoked later in Settings → MCP Access.

## Verify

After sign-in, list the server's tools. A working connection exposes tools such as `get_usepulse_mcp_capabilities`, `search_companies`, `search_people` and `get_signal_feed`. Call `get_usepulse_mcp_capabilities` first: it describes what the connected account can do. Run one read-only call, for example searching for a well-known company, and show the user the result. If the client reports 401, rerun the login step. If it reports 403, the account is on the free preview or lacks workspace access.

## Example prompts

- "Find founders of DeFi companies that raised a seed round this month and rank them against our ICP."
- "Who at <company> should I talk to about an audit, and do we have a warm intro?"
- "Log a meeting with <person> at TOKEN2049 and move them to opportunity."
